Getting Started

Check out your Lobby

Once you've downloaded Around, the first screen you'll see when you open the app is your Lobby. This is the heartbeat of Around and you'll be able to see everything that's going on here.

Rooms

Meetings in Around happen in rooms. There is no limit to how many rooms you can have, so set up different rooms for your team, recurring meetings and specific projects (i.e. Daily Standups, Design Sessions, Brainstorms, 1:1s, etc). The best part? Because you can customize the URL for each room (e.g. around.co/r/lisa-simpson), you’ll no longer have to search for complicated links. And whenever you add a team member to your room, it’ll show up in their Lobby as well.

Recordings

Here you can see all of the recordings you have created during a meeting, as well as any recordings made in rooms where you’re a member.

Settings

Clicking on your avatar opens Around’s magic menu, providing access to your account, settings, extensions, as well as additional ways to join a meeting. Take a minute to customize your Around experience by clicking your avatar and selecting Settings. Some of our favorites:

  • Turn on/off AI noise suppression

  • Leave meetings in one-click

  • Choosing default skin tone for your emoji reactions

  • Turn on/off AI-based camera framing

  • Join meetings with camera on/off

  • Mute/Unmute Microphone Global Shortcut


Use a Meeting Template when creating a new Room

To help your team save time and collaborate more efficiently, when creating a new room you can choose from a variety of ready-made meeting templates that support proven workflows. Pick a default meeting experience (ranging from brainstorms to retrospectives) and select from over 300 Miro templates that best match your needs. Around also stores all notes and Miro boards once the session ends, meaning teams can easily pick up where they left off.

Note: To use this feature, you must connect a new or existing Miro account in Your Account.
